Welcome to The Book Bag!

"A Non-Profit Literacy Organization"

The Book Bag is a new concept in
supporting community literacy. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, our purpose is
to:
 |
Make book ownership affordable
and accessible. |
 |
Encourage people of all ages
and socioeconomic backgrounds to read. |
 |
Connect people who love books
and reading. |
We operate much like a thrift
store. We solicit donations of used books, clean them up, shelve only the best, and sell them at very low prices:
|
Adult Books |
|
Paperbacks:
$3.00 - $4.00
|
|
Hardbacks:
$5.00
|
| |
|
Children’s Books
|
|
$1.00
- $3.00 |
In addition to making books
affordable for children and adults, we serve our community in a variety of other
ways:
 | Host field trips for local
elementary and preschool children. |
 | Redistribute excess inventory to churches,
Ventura County Jail, youth detention centers, California inmates and schools. |
 | Recycle all of the unusable
donated books. |
